Chengxi redelivered the first midship-section jumbousing project
On February 20, M.V. Kathy Mckeil was redelivered after the successful midship-section jumboizing conversion by Chengxi.
The original 16,000DWT oil tanker was converted and upgraded into a 19,500DWT bulk carrier within only eight months through reconstructing the midship section while retaining the bow and stern.
Compared with newbuilding, the conversion of M.V. Kathy Mckeil takes a shorter cycle and less investment, which is favored by owners for its economic benefits and advantages of seizing the golden window of opportunities in the booming shipping market
The owner of M.V. Kathy Mckeil highly appreciated and commended Chengxi for the expertise, excellent quality assurance and high efficiency in the conversion, and expressed their expectation for cooperation with Chengxi in future.
