Chengxi Shipayard delivered an 88,800dwt bulk carrier with in-house design to Ciner with sixty-eight days earlier than contract period.

A grand naming and delivery ceremony was celebrated in Chengxi Shipyard(Yangzhou) on May 23th. The new ship was named “M.V.Cardiff” by Godmother Ms. Lavinia Santovetti.

As the first achievement of the win-win cooperation between Chengxi Shipyard and Ciner, one of the largest bulk carrier owners, “M.V. CARDIFF”, the 88,800DWT bulk carrier was a newly optimized vessel type based upon 85,000DWT bulk carrier and has a much higher deadweight than equivalent Kamsarmax tonnage vessels, with an optimised hull design and fuel saving paints.

Mr. Murat Yilmaz Sarihan, Technical&Newbuilding Manager, expressed his appreciation to Chengxi for working extremely hard in a most helpful, respectful and sincere way to ensure that the completion of M/V Cardiff was achieved in an environmentally friendly way.
